Located within minutes of downtown Denver between the streets of Colfax, 6th Avenue, Monaco and Eudora Streets, Mayfair was developed in 1885 by Baron Walter Von Richthofen. Advertised as “The Beautiful Suburban Town of Denver,” Richthofen’s development represents an early example of modern suburbia. While the community of Mayfair became part of Denver in 1902, it was not officially named until after World War II when it was predominantly settled by returning soldiers and their families. With wide streets, large lots, and easy access to Colorado Health Sciences Center, Rose Medical Center and National Jewish Hospital, Mayfair is truly an example of suburban living within city limits.

The architecture of Mayfair is eccentric and encompasses several styles including bungalows and ranches, but is best known for the area of Tudor homes on 13th and 14th Streets. Three shopping areas at 14th and Krameria Streets, Colfax Avenue, and 8th Avenue and Colorado Boulevard offer an assortment of shops and restaurants to serve the practical and eclectic retail needs and palate. Just minutes away is the Cherry Creek shopping area as well.
